Yes. Android and iOS users will see the same Amp shows and will be able to tune into any show they like. Engagement features like chat and call-in will include users from both devices.
What are reactions?
Tap the Reactions button to send some hand claps up the screen for a little love to your favorite creators. You can use Reactions (located next to the Like button) as many times as you’d like. Does Amp work with my Alexa device?
Yes, Amp is compatible with most Echo devices (Echo, Echo Dot, Echo Show). Amp is also compatible with the Alexa mobile app on both Android and iOS devices. You can use the Alexa app even if you don’t own an Alexa device. This means that anyone with an Android phone can download the Alexa app to listen to Amp.

To start listening, simply say “Alexa, play Amp.” You can also say “Alexa, next” to find the perfect show for you. Alexa can even find your favorite artist when they are live on Amp. Just say, “Alexa, play Tinashe on Amp” or another artist you’re looking for. Alexa can also find your favorite live Amp show. Just say “Alexa, play ‘Music Lovers Only” or another show title to start listening. To access more features like call-in or to create a show, continue to use the Amp app. Please note that Amp is not yet compatible on third-party Alexa enabled devices (Fire TV, Sonos, Bose, etc.).
Can I use Alexa to find creators?
Yup. Alexa can find creators when they are live on Amp. Simply say, “Alexa, play Tinashe on Amp,” or another artist you’re looking for to start listening.
Can I use Alexa to find my shows?
You sure can. When a show is live on Amp simply say, “Alexa, play ‘Music Lovers Only,’ on Amp” or another show title you’re looking for to start listening.
Why isn’t Alexa finding my creator?
Is the creator you’re looking for live? If so, give it another try! Alexa is only able to find creators and shows when they are live on air. If a creator isn’t live Alexa will either let you know when their next show is scheduled and drop you into a show currently live on Amp.
How do I call in to a show?
The show host can turn the call-in feature on or off. If you can’t see the call-in button, it means the host isn’t taking callers at that time – or is at capacity, with a maximum of 5 callers. When the button is visible, tap it, and you’ll see it transition to a “waiting” sequence to signify the host has been notified. If the host accepts your request, you’ll be notified and given the option to join or decline.
I can’t find the show I’m looking for!
Amp is a live service and shows are most easily discovered when live. You can swipe through live and upcoming shows from your homescreen (left and right). Search and discoverability features will evolve with our community. Subscribe to the Amp Newsletter for product feature updates, news, and creator opportunities.
Can I interact with other listeners?
The show host is in control of who speaks on their show. Once your call-in request has been accepted, and you join the show, the stage is yours to share. You can also chat with the host and other listeners by tapping “Chat” or swiping to the right.
Where can I find an archived show?
Whether you missed a show or want to hear it again, Replays let you find on-demand recordings of select shows like Nicki Minaj’s latest Queen Radio. Replays are also a great way to try something new, or to share live shows you heard and loved with friends. To get started, just open the app and start scrolling through available recordings. But you better get listening! Replays are only available for a limited time.
Where are the listener counts? Why are listener counts gone?
We’re constantly iterating on Amp to try and deliver the best experience possible for our community. We’ve heard from many Amp creators that listener counts could make Amp feel like a popularity contest, and we’re experimenting with their removal to encourage listeners to look past the number of listeners and discover new content they’ll love.

Creators can still see their listener count while hosting a show, and like counts are still available on every Amp show.

We’d love to hear what you think.
How do I turn on closed captions?
Closed captions can be enabled by tapping the three dots at the top right of any show. Once enabled, you can see a transcription of what the host is saying, and a record of what tracks they’ve played while you’ve been listening. You can turn it off at any time. Closed Captioning supports English language shows only.
How does chat work?
Chat is now available for all shows on Amp! Once enabled, creators and listeners will have the ability to share messages with each other in real-time during the show by tapping into the chat panel at the bottom of the show screen. Keep it real, but be kind. All users must abide by the Community Guidelines when chatting, and creators can disable chat at any time.
How can I share a clip of a show I like?
During spoken word moments of the show, a scissors icon will appear on the top right hand of the screen. Select this icon and a prompt to share the previous 30s of the show will appear. Select the share clip button and send to your friends or family.

Clips can be shared to Instagram, Facebook, iMessage, Snap and Twitter. Creators can enable or disable the clipping ability with the toggle in show setup.

This feature is currently only available for listeners, but soon Creators will be able to share clips from their own shows! Android listeners won’t have this option just yet .
Why can’t I see Replays?

Note: Android users won’t have access to Replays just yet.
What happened to Channels?
We’re always improving the Amp experience for our listeners and creators. The Channels feature has been discontinued as we prioritize other new features for our community. Make sure to stay tuned to the Amp Newsletter for the latest feature updates and improvements.
Creating on Amp
Questions most commonly asked by creators about music licensing, creating shows, and interacting with callers
How do I create a show?
You can create a show easily and anytime from the homescreen or your profile page by tapping the “Create” button. From there, you’ll be able to add a title and description, add songs, schedule a future show, or go live on the spot. See our Getting Started section for more tips to help optimize your content.
Do I need special audio equipment?
The only true equipment you need is Amp on your iPhone. That being said, we recommend Bluetooth headphones with a built-in microphone for better audio when hosting or calling. For audio enhancement information see the Audio Effects page.
How do I improve audio quality?
Audio quality on the host and callers side is reduced when playing music for latency reduction. However, listeners receive your show and the songs you play in a higher fidelity.

Please make sure you are in an area with good internet connectivity. If you’re a listener having audio quality issues, or have a different issue not addressed above, here’s what to do:
  • If you’re using headphones, please check your connection
  • If the headphones are wireless, please ensure that they are charged and close to the device
  • If issues persist, report a bug using the chat bot at the bottom right

Tip for creators: While Bluetooth is recommended for a solid, hands-free experience, a wired connection may offer higher quality audio. Just make sure your device is compatible. See the Getting Started section for more more audio device tips.
Can I schedule a show for a time in the future?
Yes. When setting up your show, select the “schedule for later” option. You’ll then be able to select a date and time to go live that suits you, then continue planning your show.
How do I make money?
The Amp Creator Fund is a program focused on giving qualifying Amp creators a chance to earn money by doing what they do best: create. Funds are rewarded monthly, recognizing qualifying creators based on listener engagement and show performance metrics. It’s our way of recognizing the hard work of Amp’s community of creators.

Catch up on all things Creator Fund here.
How do I allow my listeners to call into my show?
When live, you can enable the call-in feature by selecting the “invite callers” button. This will take you to the “add callers” page where you can enable the feature. When it’s not enabled, listeners won’t see the call-in button. When enabled, this is the screen where your caller requests will appear. Find out more about how to optimize your Amp experience over in our Getting Started section.
Why can’t I find my show on the homescreen, no matter how much I swipe?
Users see shows that best match their listening preferences. Shows titled descriptively, using all three topic tags are more likely to show up sooner to listeners whose preferences match your show description. To help your shows be discovered more easily, we’ve developed creator education materials to help optimize your content. Check out the Getting Started section for tips on how to improve your audience reach and engagement.
Can I share my profile or my show?
You can share your profile directly from the profile page by tapping the share icon in the top right corner. Use this link across your socials so your community can find and follow you! How do I add music to my show?
You can add songs to your show anytime during show set up or when you’re live by navigating to the “Playlist” tab. You’ll see an “Add Songs” button, where you can search the Amp library and create your own playlist of songs for your show. To preview a song before adding it to your playlist, you can long press the song from search to hear a 30-second snippet.
Will Android creators have access to the same music catalog?
Yes. Amp’s music library has access to tens of millions of songs for your use in your show. Both devices will have access to the same library.

Can I play music that isn’t in the Amp music library?
Sharing content you do not own or have permission to use is a violation of the Terms of Use and Community Guidelines, and you may also be in violation of copyright or other laws. You may perform original music if you own the rights or clear the rights yourself. Refer to our Terms of Use and Community Guidelines for more information.

Uploading your own music: adding an independent upload function is important to us. The Amp music library features tens of millions of songs, and we’re adding millions more. If there’s something you can’t find, let us know here.
What happens if someone calls me while I’m hosting a show?
Phone calls will not interrupt your show. If you get a phone call while hosting, it’s best to decline to stay focused on your show. But if you do take a call, in most cases you’ll be able to return to hosting your Amp show as normal. If you experience any issues re-joining your show — try force closing the app and opening it again, you should be able to continue hosting your show.

Technical
Troubleshooting technical issues on Amp
I’m having audio quality issues
Audio quality on the host and callers side is reduced when playing music for latency reduction. However, listeners receive your show and the songs you play in a higher fidelity.

Please make sure you are in an area with good internet connectivity. If you’re a listener having audio quality issues, or have a different issue not addressed above, here’s what to do:
  • If you’re using headphones, please check your connection
  • If the headphones are wireless, please ensure that they are charged and close to the device
  • If issues persist, report a bug using the chat bot in the bottom right
Tip for creators: While Bluetooth is recommended for a solid, handsfree experience, a wired connection may offer higher quality audio. Just make sure your device is compatible. See the Audio Effects page for more audio device tips.
Listeners cannot hear me
All microphones are automatically muted during songplay for the duration of the track. If that’s not your issue, double check that you haven’t accidentally muted yourself on the app or on your headphones. You can also use your phone’s microphone on speaker mode to identify if it’s a headphone or app issue.

If it’s not a headphone issue, then try closing and re-opening the app. If issues persist, report a bug by letting us know in the chat bot at the bottom right.
App crashes on load
Try closing out the app and reloading. If you’re still experiencing issues, you can report a bug by letting us know in the chat bot at the bottom right.
Music is not playing
Once your Solo Jams have ended, you’ll need at least 1 listener to continue playing music from your playlist. If that’s not the issue, try closing out the app and reloading. If you’re still experiencing issues, you can report a bug by letting us know in the chat bot at the bottom right.
How do I report a bug?
We welcome your feedback. You can submit a report using the customer support chat bot at the bottom right. We appreciate you taking the time.
Why won’t my headphones connect?
Amp supports Bluetooth-connected headphones and most headphones connected through the iPhone jack. Not all USB devices are currently supported, but we’re working on audio functionality improvements. Using auxiliary headphones and your phone’s built-in microphone provides the richest audio experience. Check out the Audio Effects page for set-up suggestions.

If you’re using Bluetooth headphones, make sure your they properly connect via Bluetooth in your phone’s settings. If you’re still having issues, your headphone and mic setup may not be supported.

You can report a bug by reaching out to our customer support team between business hours using the chat bot at the bottom of the screen.

These do not come through clearly due to voice optimization.
    YouTube?
This is not allowed and is intentionally muffled.
